About China Fair

China Fair is a Chinese restaurant located in Traverse City, Michigan. Started in 1977 under the name "Elegant Wok," it was renamed to "China Fair" in 1979 and has remained in the same location since it’s founding.

In January 2000, Henry Lan and his wife Helen purchased China Fair and have owned it ever since. Since buying the restaurant in 2000, they have been committed to serving the Traverse City Community in more ways than serving great Chinese food. They are actively involved in working with Chinese international students who come to Traverse City to study at Traverse City West and Traverse City Central high schools and at the Northwestern Michigan College. Henry and Helen have also made serving tourists that visit Traverse City during the Cherry Festival a priority by serving delicious Chinese Food at the Open Space.
